Last Saturday 19th Feb 2011 at Queen's Island CC Open Show "Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am (Jun Ch) won the OB class,BOB & was 2nd in the Hound Grp and our very promising young B&W lad "Smoke" Rushden Where There's Smoke With Mossbawnhill took BPIB & was 2nd in the Hound Puppy Grp,all under Mr Robert Dunlop of the Habiba affix in the UK.
"Bracken" Collooney Mamma Mia their Grandmum & Great Grandmum respectively did'nt let the side down either & was a very respectable 2nd in the Veteran Stakes under the BIS judge Mr Ernie Smith.

This will be Pebble's first litter as she has done so well in the ring that we felt we'd like to finish campaigning her before she left for maternity duties! It is a line bred litter so hopefully it will not be a million miles away in quality,movement & type from our wonderful "Double T" litter that produced "Folly" M.U Bet I Am, "Riley" Aust Ch. M.I Am Legend,"Maple" M.Timeless Epic From Ribblesmere,"Crumpet" M.Glamorous & "Piper" M.Blaze Of Glory In Gwendariff .

"Folly" takes N.I Hound Of The Year 2010 title!!
Well what a brilliant start to the New Year for us! "Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am won the title of Northern Ireland Hound Of The Year 2010 on Jan 8th 2011 under UK Hound Specialist Ms Jenny Startup. And our B&W baby "Smoke" Rushden Where There's Smoke With Mossbawnhill made it to the final of the N.I Hound Puppy Of The Year.

New Champion!!
This should've been reported much earlier than it is being!! And for that I apologise but I was experiencing difficulties with updating our site...as reported below.
But we are over the moon to say that "Riley" Mossbawnhill I Am Legend can now be formally know as Australian Champion Mossbawnhill I Am Legend as he gained his final points (back in Sept 10) for his Australian Ch. Title & we could'nt be prouder!!!! "Riley" resides at the very well known "Taejaan" kennel in Australia consisting of Molly Rule-Steele,Sonia Turay & Alicia Taylor he was handled to his wins & title by Molly & Sonia. He is now being given a short rest to let him mature...both mentally & physically!!!! and then hopefully he will come back out again & be selectively campaigned later in the year.

"Crumpet" qualifies for Crufts 2011 @ her 1st UK Ch show
We were extremely pleased that we were with Lynne Stratton who owns & handles "Crumpet" Mossbawnhill Glamorous when she qualified her for Crufts 2011 at LKA on Dec 11th 2010 under Per Iversen (Sweden). Now this might seem rather un-news worthy to some but this was both Crumpet's & Lynne's first UK Ch Show and only their fourth ever time in a show ring! so we were really happy to watch a rather stunned Lynne take a good strong PGB class of 19...really WELL DONE to you both!!
At the same show Jean Dickenson (Ribblesmere) who owns & handles "Maple" Mossbawnhill Timeless Epic From Ribblesmere who incidently is Crumpet's litter sister,won the YB class from an entry of 15 and our own "Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am (again another litter sister) was VHC in the same class. And "Badger" Ir Ch Mossbawnhill Better Man took Res (4th) in OD (21 entries),"Smoke" Rushden Where There's Smoke With Mossbawnhill & "Pebble" UK,IR & INT Ch. Mossbawnhill It's All Bout Me (European Winner 09) were both shortlisted in their classes of MPD (entry of 20) & OB (entry of 22) respectively. So not too bad a trip for us to the UK.

We are really pleased to say that "Ash" Mossbawnhill Ltd Edition To Yialousa won the bitch CC from the Open class at Whippet Club Of Wales Ch Show held on the 4th Dec 2010 under UK breed specialist Di Morgan (Meandi),she also finished RBIS.

Well,we have had some very nice photo's sent to us (a while back,but I could only get them on here now) of one of "Clay's" Mossbawnhill Masterpiece son's "Henson" Druantia's Henson who lives in Switzerland with the Cavelty family http://www.leadsandcollars.ch as you can see from the photo's he is a very much loved member of their family & has fitted in extremely well.He will also take part in conformation showing.

"Rekaylahn" affix in the UK & our new youngster "Smoke" Rushden Where There's Smoke With Mossbawnhill took the BPIS slot on his debut in the showring....it really was a super day & we would like to express our sincerest thanks to the Judge for making it a very memorable one & appreciating all our dogs too!
"Teazel" Mossbawnhill Turn Up The Sun placed 1st in the OB class, "Damson" Mossbawnhill Smooth As Silk For Rushden (CJW 09 & EJW 09) placed 2nd in the OB class (she is Smoke's mom) & "Bracken" Collooney Mamma Mia was 3rd in the same class as well as placing Res (4th) in the Vet Stakes class.

"Bracken" goes BVIS!!
The Northern Ireland Whippet Club held it's annual Ch Show on the 26th Sept 2010 which runs back to back with Belfast Ch Show and we are really pleased to say that "Bracken" Collooney Mamma Mia won Best Veteran In Show after winning the Veteran Bitch class under UK breed specialist judge Mr Bob Belshaw of the "Permadon" affix.
Mossbawnhill have a good day at Belfast Ch show.
The Mossbawnhill team had quite a good day's results when we attended Belfast Ch Show on the 25th September 10,we only entered three of our dogs in the breed classes under Helen Fielden (UK) & were really pleased when two of them won their classes..."Timber" Ir & Int Ch Mossbawnhill Exclusive (CJW 08) won OB & then went on to take the RCC & his daughter "Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am (Jun Ch.) won the JB class,her grandmum & Tim's mum "Bracken" Collooney Mamma Mia was shortlisted in the OB class but did manage to get a respectable 3rd in a good Veteran Stakes class of 16. We had also entered "Pebble" UK,IR & INT Ch. Mossbawnhill It's All Bout Me (Euro Winner 09) in the Eukanuba Ch Stakes where she also managed a 3rd place in a strong class of 33 and to top it all off "Folly" was also entered in the Junior Stakes & thrilled us by winning it!!! All three stakes classes were judged by Mr Rodney Oldham (UK) & below is what he thought of Folly....
"Displays the cleanest of lines with action to match,particularly scored in her front assembly with her well filled front"

Some recent news from the "Mossbawnhills" in England
As I have been offline for over a month due to a virus wiping out our hard drive,I now seem to have an awful lot of updating to do!

"Clay" Mossbawnhill Masterpeice who lives in Germany & is owned by Daniela Zingg-Bucher http://www.druantia.ch/ has sired two litters who have had some great successes,here are a few oof the more recent ones.
At the double CAC show in Lostallo on the 25th Sept 2010 "Glen" Druantia's Glen Boy who is owned by Martina Bartsch http://www.souls-on-paws.webs.com/ was awarded the CAC from the intermediate class by judges Mr Wullschleger from Switzerland & also Mr Roger Stock from the well known "Courthill" whippet kennel in the UK,at the same show,the same judges also awarded Druantia's Henson BPIS! "Henson" is owned & handled by Nadine Cavelty.Both dogs are sired by "Clay".

We are delighted to announce that "Toni" Russ & Belarus Ch. Mossbawnhill Celtic Legacy who lives in Russia & is owned by sisters Natalia Malyarenko & Julia Eliseeva has gained another Ch. title to add to his other two. He & his daughter "Fanta" Intriga'S Confessa attended an Int Ch Show in Uralsk Kazakhstan on the 5th Sept 2010 where "Toni" was awarded the CAC,CACIB & BOS from the open class (he now has 3 CACIB's) & "Fanta" won the JCAC from the jun class under judge Polivanov (Russ),this means that Toni is now a Kaza Ch & Fanta won the Jun Winner title.

THREE WHIPPETS STOLEN!!!!
Three whippets that were bred by us have been stolen from their home in South Tipperary in Ireland - I am attaching the photo's below...there was another whippet stolen too but I don't know much about him unfortunately but the three that we bred are all microchipped I do not know if the fourth one was or not?..I think he is a red fawn parti but don't know anymore than that.At this moment in time I cannot tell you much other than they were taken on Friday 27th August,I am waiting for Tony their owner to get back to me with more details...but what I do know is that the guards (police) have been involved & the area has been searched extensively & that all the rescue centers & local dog pounds have also been notified,whoever stole the dogs broke into Tony's house to gain access to them as they all lived indoors & as far as we know they left via a back field as there was a makeshift leash made from blue baler twine found lying in the field & another in the yard. Tony is understandably devastated & just as soon as I know more I shall post again.
Please,please if anyone knows where these dogs might be,could you tel me on 028 42772292...no questions asked,just please return the dogs safe & sound or let us know where they are & we can collect them & return them to their devastated owner.

"Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am gained her 1st Green Star (She has two Res GS's) at the Hound Assoc Of Ireland's Group Ch Show held at Naas racecourse on Sat 14th Aug 10 in style by going BOB under Mrs Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen from Finland. Folly headed a reasonably decent entry for Ireland of 32 whippets & then to top that she also managed a Grp 2nd under Senor Adolofo Martinez-Noguera from Spain.
Hopefully there will be some more judges out there who will appreciate Folly for her perfect size & type along with her wonderful free flowing movement and she will gain some more Green Stars towards her Irish title.

Nikki Hunter in England who owns & handles "Ellie" Mossbawnhill She's Eleqtric At Salatini very kindly sent us this beautiful photo that was captured by Pauline Oliver recently at Windsor Ch Show.I have also added some more that I took at Southern Counties & Bath Ch Shows where "Ellie" was 2nd in a strong Limit Bitch class of 24....I have also included her critique from that same show,where the judge was specialist Jarmo Vuorinen of the "Scheiks Kennel" in Finland and where his BOB was "Ellie's" half sister "Pebble" GB,IR & INT Ch. Mossbawnhill It's All Bout Me (EW09).

"Bracken" does it again! BOB & Grp 2nd at Swords Ch Show ~ Sat 19th June 10
"Bracken" Collooney Mamma Mia repeated her BOB & Group placing of last week (13th June 10) but went one better by going Grp 2 this time.This was at Swords Ch Show on 19th June 10 & judging both the breed & the group was hound specialist Ms Dianna Spavin from the very well known "Dialynne" beagle affix in England. "Bracken" won her 5th Green Star from the Open Bitch class along with BOB & then took 2nd in the group and her little grandaughter "Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am really surprised us by taking the reserve GS in the bitches! this is "Folly's" 2nd & both have been from the Junior Bitch class. This leaves "Bracken" with just 2 more GS's to get to claim her Irish title & we're hoping they wont be too long in coming.

Today Sunday 13th June 10 we were showing a little closer to home this week-end....only 20 mins down the road at the N.I Non-Sporting Breeds Assoc all breed Open Show under another specialist Mrs Heather Worrall (UK) from the Khabaray affix and this time it was "Bracken" Collooney Mamma Mia who took BOB from the OB class handled as usual by Ryan,she then went on to get 3rd in the Hound Group under Hound Specialist judge Mr Phil McGarry-Arthur (N.I) from the Faburn affix.

A RCC for "Pebble" just 5 days after taking her UK title ~ 5th June 10
Only five days after winning her UK crown "Pebble" UK,Ir & INT Ch Mossbawnhill It's All Bout Me (EW09) (the UK title is subject to KC approval) is back in England,this time at Southern Counties Ch Show Sat 5th June 10 under Dr Goran Bodegarde (Swed) and again wins the OB class this time from an entry of 20 and then takes the Res CC!

"Pebble" gains her UK title in style!!! ~ 31st May 10
We are thrilled to say that "Pebble" Ir & INT Ch Mossbawnhill It's All Bout Me (EW09) gained her UK Ch title in style today at Bath Ch Show 31st May 10 by not only going BOB but also winning an extremely strong Hound Group under judges Jarmo Vuorinen & Denys Simpson.
This is the first UK/GB Champion for Mossbawnhill & we are really proud to say that she took all 3 CC's (2 with BOB)under very well respected judges two of whom are breed specialists & the third a very well known Hound Specialist & BIS judge.

We have received some results & new pics of "Toni" Russ & Belarus Ch Mossbawnhill Celtic Legacy & his daughter "Fanta" Intriga'S Confessa from Natalia & Julia in Russia.
On the 28th March 10 at the Int show in Moscow under O.Dolesova (CzR) "Fanta" won the Res Junior CAC,then the following month April 25th 10 at another Int show this time in Saratov "Toni" won the CACIB & was BOS to his daughter "Fanta" who won the Jun CAC,was Best Jun in breed,BOB & ended up Grp 2nd! Bearing in mind that she wont be a year old until June,we think she is doing extremely well!!

The Mini-Circuit 1st-3rd May 2010 ~ new INT Ch!
We are very pleased to report that we had a rather successful Mini-Circuit again this year (1st-3rd May 2010) as we managed to gain "Timber" Ir Ch Mossbawnhill Exclusive (CJW08) his INT title (subject to FCI confirmation) on the Saturday at the first show under Mr Robert Osterwalder from Switzerland,then the following day "Bracken" Collooney Mamma Mia took the OB class & then Green Star Bitch,followed by BOB & a super Grp 1st win, all under the well respected sighthound specialist & president of The German Sighthound Club (DWZRV) Mrs Wilfriede Schwerm-Hahne.

And finally I would just like to make a small mention to Lynne Stratton who owns "Crumpet" Mossbawnhill Glamorous as they both debuted this week-end at two of the shows Fermoy & the Hound Club (she was judging elsewhere on the Sun) and managed to get a very respectable 3rd place with Excellent on both occassions! And considering that Lynne has never handled in a show ring before both Ryan & I feel that she has very obviously made a huge effort with Crumpet and spent a lot of time on her and it paid off!! So really WELL DONE!! Lynne & Crumpet!

"Riley" gains another CC in Australia ~ 1st May 10
More good news from Molly Rule-Steele in Australia as she tells me that "Riley" Mossbawnhill I Am Legend was awarded another CC towards his Ch title at the Corowa Kennel Club Ch Show held on the 1st May 10 under judge Caroline Stuart (NSW). Riley is more than halfway to his title now & he is just over a year old.

Some recent UK show news
There have been some nice wins for Mossbawnhill dogs in England recently.Firstly "Ellie" Mossbawnhill She's Eleqtric At Salatini was piloted to a wonderful BIS win at Camberley DCS Open Show on April 18th 10 by her owner Nikki Hunter,Ellie had won BOB under judge Mr Ronald Penn (Noresh) and then then went on to win the Hound Grp followed by her BIS win! We are really proud of her and very pleased for Nikki. WELL DONE!!!

Also on the same day (April 18th) at NCWC Ch show under Jackie Norman "Maple" Mossbawnhill Timeless Epic was 3rd in a good JB class handled as ususal by her owner Mrs Jean Dickenson.

"Merlin" x "Damson" litter have also arrived!! ~ 29th April 10
We are thrilled to say that "Damson" Mossbawnhill Smooth As Silk For Rushden (CJW 09,EJW 09) has safely whelped her 1st litter of 9 (7 dogs & 2 bitches) sired by "Merlin" Rushden Cast's A Spell Over Brackaghmoss (owned by Graham Meek) for Janet Duke & Tracy Gill of the Rushden affix in the early hours of Thursday 29th April 2010.
And what a stunning litter it is! This is a very exciting litter not just regarding their colors but also for their pedigree as it combines some of the best UK,Continental & US lines that there are in the whippet world!
We are hoping to go and see this little lot in the flesh very soon but until then we will have to make do with pics (which there are some of below)

"Clay" & "Nora" litter have arrived! ~ 20th April 10
We are absoloutley delighted to announce that "Clay" Mossbawnhill Masterpiece has sired his 2nd litter for Daniela Zingg-Bucher of Kennel Druantia (now in Germany). "Clay" was mated to "Nora" Druantia's Eilinora Bright Star who presented Daniela with a beautiful litter of 7 (3 dogs & 4 bitches) on the 20th April 10.
Most of these puppies are already booked but there may still be one or two available to the right five star home/homes..if you are interested & feel that you could offer a permanent loving home for one of these beautiful puppies then please contact Daniela directly on info@druantia.ch

Updated photos of "Ritva" in Finland (April 2010)
We received two more updated pics of "Ritva" from Aino Makela in Finland who owns & handles "Fallow" Fin & Nor Ch Mossbawnhill Dream On (Fin JW 07).
"Ritva" is Fallow's daughter & the only resulting puppy from a mating between her & "Mike" Nor & Swed Ch Farytail's thFragrance O'Gold (WW 08).
She is 7 weeks & 8 weeks old respectively in these two photos,and we think she is shaping up to be a lovely puppy.
