We said goodbye to "Mink" Mossbawnhill Irresistible today (13th July 08) she will remain in N.Ireland and has gone to a super home with Keith & Lois and their two cats,we wish them lots of luck for the future.
We are thrilled to learn today (12th July 08) that "Fallow" Mossbawnhill Dream On (Fin JW 07) was 2nd Best Bitch, took another CAC & Res CACIB at Oulu International Show (Finland) under judge Lars Adeheimer (Sweden) this actually gives her enough to be a Finnish & Norwegian Ch but unfortuantely the rules over there state that one CAC must be gained after the dogs 2nd birthday so she will have to wait until after the 27th October to claim her final CAC & crown!
This super team also won the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa District Junior Handling Championships judged by Rob Douma (Neth)
Many CONGRATS to you both girls,it is well deserved!!
At the Whippet Club Of Ireland's Ch Show held on 5th July 08 under Judge Mrs Jennifer North-Row (Barmaud) from the UK "Damson" Mossbawnhill Smooth As Silk For Rushden owner handled by Tracy Gill beat her litter sister "Sorrel" Mossbawnhill Envy Me in the Baby PB class, she then went on to also beat her brother "Cedar" Mossbawnhill Better Son for Best Baby Puppy in Show!
A big CONGRATULATIONS!! to Janet,Tracy and of course Damson as this was her very first show.
The same day as Fallow won her CC in Finland (28/06/08) "Pebble" M.It's All Bout Me was awarded the Green Star at Kilkenny Ch Show under judge Diane Ritchie (N.Ire),this brings Pebble up to 5 GS's,so she only needs another 2 to gain her title!........Fingers crossed then!!
Today (28/06/08) we heard that "Fallow" Mossbawnhill Dream On (Fin JW 07) won her class with EXC,was Best Bitch, took another CC & also was BOS,this was at the Mustiala Sighthound Speciality Ch Show in Finland under judge Paula Bockman-Chato (Australia),she was expertly steered to her wins by owner/handler Aino Makela and the pair also managed to go BIS Junior Handler too! Aino who owns Mossbawnhill Dream On (Fin JW 07) "Fallow" out in Finland has sent me this lovely critique that she received for Fallow from Iva Kimmelman (USA) (Merci Isle)
"Beautiful breed character.Lovely head & expression.Powerful underjaw.Perfect shape.Sound coming & going.Excellent sidegait."
She got a 2nd (Exc) in the Intermediate Bitch class from a class of 11 entries.
Today (4th June 08) Jean and Ken Dickenson ("Ribblesmere") arrived to take Mossbawnhill Better Boy "Ridge" back home to his new show home with them in Cheshire,he will make his debut in the rings this summer in England and we wish them all the very best of luck with him.
We have more good news from Switzerland where on the 31st May 08 Mossbawnhill Masterpiece "Clay" was Exc 1st with the CAC from the Open class at Rifferswil under Judge Gunther Ehrenreich (Austria),he was owner handled by Daniela Zingg-Bucher....Congratulations & keep up the good work!!
We had quite a successful "Mini Circuit" this year as "Timber" M.Exclusive gained another GS,this makes his count 4 & equals his sister's "Pebble" M.It's All Bout Me,he also took BOB & 4th in Grp 10. Unfortunately his sister had to be withdrawn as she was lame.We are very pleased with how these two have been doing since they made their debuts last year, they are just over halfway to their "titles" and are only 18mths old.
For our full results from these three shows please check in on the results page.
We were made extremely proud by our lovely senior boy "Moss" who yesterday (27th April 08) at the Northern Ireland Working Whippet Club Show won his heat and then went on to win overall in the whippet racing...we had'nt raced him since he was in his prime at 3 yrs old but decided to bring him out of retirement one last time as he enjoys it so much,he has now returned to his comfy sofa!! He also managed to get a 2nd place in the "working type" show class too! Incidently Moss is almost 9 YRS OLD!! and had to beat dogs less than half his age,so not bad going for an old timer.
And "Teazel" Mossbawnhill Turn Up The Sun also won her heat (kinda by default,as she was the only one to finish!! LOL) and was 3rd in the final. But we were still pleased with this as she has never chased a lure before.
Today..(26th April 08) we heard that Mossbawnhill Dream On (Fin JW 07) "Fallow" took another Res CC (Res CAC) & also another Res-CACIB plus went 3rd Best Bitch, this was under Ove Germundson (Swed)
Congratulations again girls!!
Last night (23rd April 08) M.Smooth As Silk "Damson" went to her new show home, she will be staying in Northern Ireland & we will be seeing her regularly at the shows.

We wish him & them all the very best of luck.
At the Hound Assoc Of Scotland last weekend (12th April 08) under Knut Bleutcher (Nor) both "Ash" M.Ltd Edition owner handled by Anita Mixides & "Finn" M.Cast No Shadow also owner handled but by Chris Martin won their classes,Finn was in PGD & Ash was in YB,she was also VHC in LB. WELL DONE to all concerned!!
Today (12th April 08) M's.Made You Look "Squirrel" & M's.Better Bet "Dale" went to their new show home in Ireland with Tony Ennis, they will have a super life there as Tony works with the young horses at Charlie Swan's yard and so it will seem like home from home to the pups, they will also be joining Tony's other two whippets and will enjoy going to work with thier new dad. We hope to see them in the ring later in the year and wish Tony and them the very best of luck for the future.
We are extremely happy to annouce that both Drift (Ir Ch Zordia's Shooting Star Over M. (An Ch 07)) and Timber (M.Exclusive) attained the titles of Celtic Winner for Drift and Celtic Junior Winner for Timber at yesterday's IKC St Patrick's Day Speciality Show (17th Mar 08) Drift also went BOB and then topped it off by going Grp 2 in what is an extremely large & difficult Grp to get placed in!!
This year as we have the litter on the ground we decided not to exhibit at Crufts ourselves,so I flew over to stay with a close friend (Anita from the Yialousa Kennel who owns Beau & Ash "M. Supersonic" & "M.Ltd Edition") and then went with Anita as her "helper" and also to spectate. There were however four Mossbawnhills being shown..."Supersonic","Ltd Edition","Cast No Shadow" & "She's Eleqtric" unfortunately Ash (Ltd Edition) & Beau (Supersonic) were not to the judges liking this time but Finn (Cast No Shadow) was shortlisted in his PG class of 18 entries and Ellie (She's Eleqtric) was 3rd in her PG class of 17 entries.Well Done to all concerned!
On Sunday 24th Feb 08 at Newtownards Ch Show (FCI/IKC rules) under breed specialist Mr Albert Ritchie (Gwendarriff UK) M. It's All Bout Me "Pebble" took her fourth Green Star along with BOB & Grp 2...this means she has only another three GS's to get to gain her title.
She was handled as usual by Ryan.
We got a nice surprise through the post last Wednesday (20th Feb 08) "Drift" our Basenji gained the title of Annual Champion 07!!
He will only be be lightly shown this year at Int CACIB shows to try and gain his Int title as he is already an Ir Ch.
The following day in Finland (Sunday 27th Jan 08) M.Dream On "Fallow" took her 2nd RCC after winning 1st with an Exc in Junior Class under Espen Engh (Jet...Nor).This team of Aino & Fallow have also really impressed us with their consistency in the rings.WELL DONE girls!!
"Rush" (Druantia's Celtic Flight To Mossbawnhill) safely whelped her lovely litter of 10 pups on Thurs 9th Jan,they were 5/6 days early but are all doing really well as is mum.Dad is our own homebred boy "Badger" (Mossbawnhill Better Man),the litter have an almost entirely American/Continental pedigree,so we are very excited about them. A big WELL DONE to Rush who was a star and took it all in her stride!
Today (8th Dec 07) Fallow gained her first title under Age Gjetnes (Nor),she is now Finnish Junior Winner 2007! This was especially sweet for me today as it is my birthday,so thanks for a great present! We are so proud of both her and Aino, her owner. A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to you both and also to Salla who expertly handled her as Aino was stewarding in one of the other rings.
The same weekend that Fallow went Junior BOB we travelled over to England to a Whippet Breed Show where M.It's All Bout Me "Pebble" was entered into a Limit Bitch class for the very first time, she is only 13mths and usually the bitches in this class would be adults but we felt that she could cope okay...how right we were! Pebble was 3rd out of an entry of 37 other bitches who were all older than her,Frank Kane (UK) was the judge and he thought that she would go far as she matured. We were extremely happy with this result and it made the long journey well worthwhile!!
At the weekend (Nov 17th/18th 07) in Finland under Jill Peak (UK) M.Dream On "Fallow" was handled by her owner Aino Makela to a very respectable class win with an Exc and then on to Junior BOB out of 20 whippets. We are very pleased with how this young lady is doing for her owner and wish them continuing success! WELL DONE to you both.
At NWA Open Show on the 4th Nov 07 under Judge Claire Rishworth (UK) Mossbawnhill She's Eleqtric At Salatini (Ellie) won Open Bitch then took Best Bitch and topped it all off with going BIS!! Many Congratulations to Nik and of course Ellie herself!
At Seinajoki (Finland) under Robert Paust (USA) on the 21st Oct 07 Mossbawnhill Dream On (Fallow) took a RCC,this followed on the heels of her first CC gained earlier this month. Congratulations Aino and Fallow!!
Yesterday (7th Oct 07) we heard that Mossbawnhill She's Eleqtric At Salatini (Ellie) was 2nd in a very strong MLB class at SYWC Ch Show, the judge was Barbara Illingsworth-Anderson (Birkonbrae..UK) ...WELL DONE!! Nik & Ells!
...Just got these results through from Darlington Ch show where we are thrilled to learn that under breed specialist Mrs Di Morgan (Meandi) Mossbawnhill Ltd Edition To Yialousa (Ash) has continued her winning ways and was owner handled to BEST PUPPY IN BREED by Anita Mixides and then was shortlisted in the Puppy Group! At the same show Mossbawnhill Supersonic At Yialousa (Beau) was VHC...he is also owned and handled by Anita and Mossbawnhill She's Eleqtric At Salatini (Ellie) was 3rd in Open Bitch, she is also owner handled but by Nikki Hunter. A huge CONGRATULATIONS from us to you all!!
We have a new Ch!!...Drift (the Basenji) took his last and crowning GS at Clonmel Int Ch Show under the breed specialist Mr Christian Jounanchicot from the famous "Out Of Africa" kennel in France,he will now be given a very well earned rest for a while.
We also did extremely well with the Whippets...doing "the double" TWICE and also taking a few reserve's along the way too.Badger now only needs another one GS to gain his title and both pups have three each already and Pebble also has two Grp wins under belt too..all this and she is only 10mths old!!! We are very proud of our little teams achievements in such a short time.
We have some great news...but with a slight twist to it!
On Sunday at Monkstown Int Ch Show Drift our Basenji got his seventh Green Star which under normal circumstances would make him a Champion!! BUT in the South of Ireland we are under FCI and one of their rules is...to become a Champion the dog must have seven Green Stars under seven different judges and the last Green Star must be attained when the dog is 15mths or older...unfortunately Drift is not 15mths until the 18th of this month,so still needs to gain another Green Star,we hope to "finish" him on the Munster Circuit in 2wks time.
