Internationally bred for versatility, health, movement & type.
Last Saturday 19th Feb 2011 at Queen's Island CC Open Show "Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am (Jun Ch) won the OB class,BOB & was 2nd in the Hound Grp and our very promising young B&W lad "Smoke" Rushden Where There's Smoke With Mossbawnhill took BPIB & was 2nd in the Hound Puppy Grp,all under Mr Robert Dunlop of the Habiba affix in the UK.
"Bracken" Collooney Mamma Mia their Grandmum & Great Grandmum respectively did'nt let the side down either & was a very respectable 2nd in the Veteran Stakes under the BIS judge Mr Ernie Smith.
The critique from Border Counties Hound Show where "Maple" Mossbawnhill Timeless Epic From Ribblesmere took BB & Res BOB under Nick Gourley of the Witchstone English Toy Terrier affix in the UK has appeared in the local dog press it is as follows:
"Dickenson's Mossbawnhill Timeless Epic From Ribblesmere. Blue fawn parti-color bitch with a feminine head & lovely neck. Won here on her correct topline with distinct rise over the loin. Very good bend of stifle & low driving hocks. Came into her own on the move in profile BB"
The critique for "Ash" Mossbawnhill Ltd Edition To Yialousa from specialist Di Morgan (Meandi) for her BCC,RBIS & BOSIS has now appeared in the dog press...here is a copy of it below:
"Mixides Mossbawnhill Ltd Edition To Yialousa.CC Pale fawn/white,I judged this bitch as a puppy awarding her Best Puppy on that occasion & was delighted to meet her again, now fully mature with a strong well muscled body, she is not overdone in any way & has the classic make & shape that I was looking for. Elegant & stylish both standing & moving. She flagged a little in the challenge which just gave the dog BOB."
We are very excited to announce that we hope to hear the patter of tiny paws fairly soon.
"Pebble" UK,IR & INT Ch. Mossbawnhill It's All Bout Me (European Winner 09) was mated to "Cedar" Mossbawnhill Better Son & she has now been confirmed in whelp and her litter will be due in Feb 2011.
This will be Pebble's first litter as she has done so well in the ring that we felt we'd like to finish campaigning her before she left for maternity duties! It is a line bred litter so hopefully it will not be a million miles away in quality, movement & type from our wonderful "Double T" litter that produced "Folly" M.U Bet I Am, "Riley" Aust Ch. M.I Am Legend,"Maple" M.Timeless Epic From Ribblesmere,"Crumpet" M.Glamorous & "Piper" M.Blaze Of Glory In Gwendariff .
We are really looking forward to this litter as the pedigree combines some truly wonderful lines & dogs and we strongly believe that Cedar is the right dog for Pebble as he compliments her beautifully,we are expecting modestly sized whippets with the wonderful tempraments & breed type of both parents along with their effortless movement.
We already have bookings for this litter (depending on the size of the litter) but if you think you might be interested in offering a loving home (either pet/companion or show) for one of these very special puppies then please contact us thru our "contact page" on this website thankyou.
We were extremely pleased that we were with Lynne Stratton who owns & handles "Crumpet" Mossbawnhill Glamorous when she qualified her for Crufts 2011 at LKA on Dec 11th 2010 under Per Iversen (Sweden). Now this might seem rather un-news worthy to some but this was both Crumpet's & Lynne's first UK Ch Show and only their fourth ever time in a show ring! so we were really happy to watch a rather stunned Lynne take a good strong PGB class of 19...really WELL DONE to you both!!
At the same show Jean Dickenson (Ribblesmere) who owns & handles "Maple" Mossbawnhill Timeless Epic From Ribblesmere who incidently is Crumpet's litter sister, won the YB class from an entry of 15 and our own "Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am (again another litter sister) was VHC in the same class. And "Badger" Ir Ch Mossbawnhill Better Man took Res (4th) in OD (21 entries),"Smoke" Rushden Where There's Smoke With Mossbawnhill & "Pebble" UK,IR & INT Ch. Mossbawnhill It's All Bout Me (European Winner 09) were both shortlisted in their classes of MPD (entry of 20) & OB (entry of 22) respectively. So not too bad a trip for us to the UK.
Actually Jean & "Maple" have had a rather good end to 2010 as the previousd two shows that they attended before LKA they won both their PG classes & also took BOS at one.....first show was Border Counties Hound on 14th Nov 10 where Nick Gourley (Witchstone) was judging & he gave Maple the PG class from an entry of 10 & then went on to award her BOS and the second show was at Sedgley & Gornal Canine Assoc on 28th Nov 10 under breed judge Fiona Mycroft (Supeta's) where she again won 1st PG from an entry of 11.
WELL DONE Jean & Maple.
We are really pleased to say that "Ash" Mossbawnhill Ltd Edition To Yialousa won the bitch CC from the Open class at Whippet Club Of Wales Ch Show held on the 4th Dec 2010 under UK breed specialist Di Morgan (Meandi),she also finished RBIS.
We are thrilled for her owner/handler Anita Mixides (Yialousa) & hope that the other two are'nt too far away!
Anita also attained her Stud Book # for Ash's lovely daughter "Scarlett" Yialousa
Scarlett Ribbon by placing 3rd in a good Limit bitch class,so a great day for the girls.
CONGRATULATIONS Anita,Ash & Scarlett!!
We must also give a small mention to "Smoke's" Rushden Where There's Smoke For Mossbawnhill sire "Merlin" Rushden Casts A Spell Over Brackaghmoss who took the RDCC from the Limit class under another UK breed specialist June Cox (Rearsbylea)
WELL DONE to his owner/handler Graham Meek (Brackaghmoss) & breeders Janet Duke & Tracy Gill (Rushden)
The Northern Ireland Whippet Club held it's annual Ch Show on the 26th Sept 2010 which runs back to back with Belfast Ch Show and we are really pleased to say that "Bracken" Collooney Mamma Mia won Best Veteran In Show after winning the Veteran Bitch class under UK breed specialist judge Mr Bob Belshaw of the "Permadon" affix.
The Mossbawnhill team had quite a good day's results when we attended Belfast Ch Show on the 25th September 10,we only entered three of our dogs in the breed classes under Helen Fielden (UK) & were really pleased when two of them won their classes..."Timber" Ir & Int Ch Mossbawnhill Exclusive (CJW 08) won OB & then went on to take the RCC & his daughter "Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am (Jun Ch.) won the JB class, her grandmum & Tim's mum "Bracken" Collooney Mamma Mia was shortlisted in the OB class but did manage to get a respectable 3rd in a good Veteran Stakes class of 16. We had also entered "Pebble" UK,IR & INT Ch. Mossbawnhill It's All Bout Me (Euro Winner 09) in the Eukanuba Ch Stakes where she also managed a 3rd place in a strong class of 33 and to top it all off "Folly" was also entered in the Junior Stakes & thrilled us by winning it!!! All three stakes classes were judged by Mr Rodney Oldham (UK) & below is what he thought of Folly....
"Displays the cleanest of lines with action to match, particularly scored in her front assembly with her well filled front"
Thankyou to both judges for your appreciation of our dogs.
We are really pleased to announce that "Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am is now formally known as Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am Jun Ch. as she has now gained her Jun crown. She is the first to do this here at Mossbawnhill & we are very proud of her.
Contributing towards her five All Breed Ch Show Jun Class wins were:
1st (with Res GS (CAC)) @ Combined Canine Int Ch Show under Robert Paust (USA/Swed)
1st (also with Res GS) @ Swords DCC Ch Show under Dianna Spavin (UK)
1st @ Bangor Ch Show under Dr C Vantu (Rom)
1st @ IKC Int Ch Show under Mr Carlos Saevich (Arg)
1st @ IKC Ch Show under Mr R Oliveira (Port)
She also won two other Jun Classes in the qualifying period but neither counted towards her title as they were not at All Breed shows...although they had big entries of whippets at both! The first was @ Whippet Club Of Ireland Ch Show under UK breed specialist Mrs Patsy Gilmour where Folly also went Best Jun in Show and the second was @ Hound Assoc Of Ireland Grp Ch Show under Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen from Finland where she not only managed to win the JB class but also took the GS (CAC),Best Bitch & BOB and then topped that off with a Grp 2nd under Adolofo Martinez Noguera from Spain.
As I have been offline for over a month due to a virus wiping out our hard drive,I now seem to have an awful lot of updating to do!
I shall start with some recent wins in England.
Firstly at the South Eastern Hound Club open show on the 5th Sept 2010 "Crumpet" Mossbawnhill Glamorous who is owned & handled by Lynne Stratton won the junior bitch class under English breed specialist Mr Kevan Ellis from the "Railfield" affix, this was Crumpet's first time being shown in the UK & only her third ever time in the ring.
Here is Kevan's critique below:
"Brindle bitch,good size,well laid shoulders,excellent front fill,moved with extension & drive"
Well Done Lynne & Crumpet!!
And secondly "Maple" Mossbawnhill Timeless Epic From Ribblesmere who is owned & handled by Jean Dickenson from the "Ribblesmere" affix also won her junior bitch class, this time at Stafford DCC open show held on 25th Sept 2010,the judge was Mrs Denise Garratt of the "Caryna" affix and she gave her a wonderful critique, which is below:
"Brindle & White youngster that was very confident in the ring, nothing exaggerated about this bitch. Feminine head, neat ears which she carried well. Elegant neck, leading into good shoulders, lovely deep brisket with the correct rise over the loin, nicely angulated hindquarters, presenting an overall balanced picture."
Well Done to Jean & Maple.
We are delighted to announce that "Toni" Russ & Belarus Ch. Mossbawnhill Celtic Legacy who lives in Russia & is owned by sisters Natalia Malyarenko & Julia Eliseeva has gained another Ch. title to add to his other two. He & his daughter "Fanta" Intriga'S Confessa attended an Int Ch Show in Uralsk Kazakhstan on the 5th Sept 2010 where "Toni" was awarded the CAC,CACIB & BOS from the open class (he now has 3 CACIB's) & "Fanta" won the JCAC from the jun class under judge Polivanov (Russ),this means that Toni is now a Kaza Ch & Fanta won the Jun Winner title.
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!to Natalia,Julia,Toni & Fanta!
Three whippets that were bred by us have been stolen from their home in South Tipperary in Ireland - I am attaching the photo's below...there was another whippet stolen too but I don't know much about him unfortunately but the three that we bred are all microchipped I do not know if the fourth one was or not?..I think he is a red fawn parti but don't know anymore than that.At this moment in time I cannot tell you much other than they were taken on Friday 27th August,I am waiting for Tony their owner to get back to me with more details...but what I do know is that the guards (police) have been involved & the area has been searched extensively & that all the rescue centers & local dog pounds have also been notified, whoever stole the dogs broke into Tony's house to gain access to them as they all lived indoors & as far as we know they left via a back field as there was a makeshift leash made from blue baler twine found lying in the field & another in the yard. Tony is understandably devastated & just as soon as I know more I shall post again.
Please, please if anyone knows where these dogs might be,could you tel me on 028 42772292...no questions asked, just please return the dogs safe & sound or let us know where they are & we can collect them & return them to their devastated owner.
Pamela.
"Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am gained her 1st Green Star (She has two Res GS's) at the Hound Assoc Of Ireland's Group Ch Show held at Naas racecourse on Sat 14th Aug 10 in style by going BOB under Mrs Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen from Finland. Folly headed a reasonably decent entry for Ireland of 32 whippets & then to top that she also managed a Grp 2nd under Senor Adolofo Martinez-Noguera from Spain.
Hopefully there will be some more judges out there who will appreciate Folly for her perfect size & type along with her wonderful free flowing movement and she will gain some more Green Stars towards her Irish title.
Thankyou to both of the above mentioned judges.
"Bracken" Collooney Mamma Mia repeated her BOB & Group placing of last week (13th June 10) but went one better by going Grp 2 this time. This was at Swords Ch Show on 19th June 10 & judging both the breed & the group was hound specialist Ms Dianna Spavin from the very well known "Dialynne" beagle affix in England. "Bracken" won her 5th Green Star from the Open Bitch class along with BOB & then took 2nd in the group and her little grandaughter "Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am really surprised us by taking the reserve GS in the bitches! this is "Folly's" 2nd & both have been from the Junior Bitch class. This leaves "Bracken" with just 2 more GS's to get to claim her Irish title & we're hoping they wont be too long in coming.
Thankyou to Ms Spavin for her lovely comments about "Bracken" & for appreciating her & her grandaughter "Folly".
Today Sunday 13th June 10 we were showing a little closer to home this week-end....only 20 mins down the road at the N.I Non-Sporting Breeds Assoc all breed Open Show under another specialist Mrs Heather Worrall (UK) from the Khabaray affix and this time it was "Bracken" Collooney Mamma Mia who took BOB from the OB class handled as usual by Ryan, she then went on to get 3rd in the Hound Group under Hound Specialist judge Mr Phil McGarry-Arthur (N.I) from the Faburn affix.
"Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am won the Junior dog or bitch class & her mum "Teazel" Mossbawnhill Turn Up The Sun was 2nd behind her mum "Bracken" in the OB class.
THANKYOU to both judges for appreciating our dogs.
Only five days after winning her UK crown "Pebble" UK,Ir & INT Ch Mossbawnhill It's All Bout Me (EW09) (the UK title is subject to KC approval) is back in England, this time at Southern Counties Ch Show Sat 5th June 10 under Dr Goran Bodegarde (Swed) and again wins the OB class this time from an entry of 20 and then takes the Res CC!
And "Badger" Ir Ch Mossbawnhill Better Man is 2nd in the Res CC Stakes under Elina Haapaniemi (Fin)
So a really good week for Mossbawnhill!!
And THANKYOU to the judges.
We are thrilled to say that "Pebble" Ir & INT Ch Mossbawnhill It's All Bout Me (EW09) gained her UK Ch title in style today at Bath Ch Show 31st May 10 by not only going BOB but also winning an extremely strong Hound Group under judges Jarmo Vuorinen & Denys Simpson.
This is the first UK/GB Champion for Mossbawnhill & we are really proud to say that she took all 3 CC's (2 with BOB)under very well respected judges two of whom are breed specialists & the third a very well known Hound Specialist & BIS judge.
CC & BIS...Espen Engh (Nor) from the "Jet's" affix
CC...Marie-Christine Delabelle (Belg) from the "Di Mahana" affix
CC,BOB & Grp 1st...Jarmo Vuorinen (Fin) from the "Scheik's" affix & Grp judge Denys Simpson (UK)
Today the breed was judged by specialist Jarmo Vuorinen who is behind the "Scheik's" kennel in Finland & the group was judged by Denys Simpson who is from the UK.
"Pebble" managed to win the OB class from an entry of 17,then took her 3rd & crowning CC & then managed to take BOB from a very strong overall entry of 251 whippets..this was for us the "icing on the cake" as we were thrilled to get her UK title but then she went one better & totally surprised us by winning an extremely strong Hound Group....definitely a day to remember for us!!
The lovely critique from the group judge is below....
"G1 the Whippet,Ir Ch Mossbawnhill It's All Bout Me,& it certainly was all about her in this group, caught my eye immediately for her quality & type, super feminine bitch with shapely, flowing outline, most beautiful head with strong underjaw, well constructed body with deep brisket, strongly muscled quarters, good bend of stifle which she used to move freely & with drive, beautifully presented." Denys Simpson.
Other Mossbawnhill's also did well today as "Folly" Mossbawnhill U Bet I Am was 3rd in a good Junior Bitch class of 15 and "Ellie" Mossbawnhill She's Eleqtric At Salatini who is owned & handled by Nikki Hunter of the Salatini affix in England was 2nd in the second largest class of the day,Limit Bitch which had 24 entries.
Ryan & I would just like to take this opportunity to thank both the judges who thought as highly of "Pebble" as we do.
THANKYOU.
More good news from Molly Rule-Steele in Australia as she tells me that "Riley" Mossbawnhill I Am Legend was awarded another CC towards his Ch title at the Corowa Kennel Club Ch Show held on the 1st May 10 under judge Caroline Stuart (NSW). Riley is more than halfway to his title now & he is just over a year old.
WELL DONE! Riley,Molly & Co.
